Just thought I would drop you an email to say thank you for installing the PIV unit in our bungalow.

As you know we had a very bad condensation problem. On our patio doors we had to use a karcher window vac to remove the condensation every morning in the winter,  collecting 3 full reservoirs of the condensation, not to mention the damp carpets where it used to run off during the night.

I was a little sceptical at first,  (how the hell is this going to stop condensation I thought). Well, having had it going for 5 weeks I have great pleasure informing you that it has worked like a miracle.

Condensation GONE!,  condensation drips from the window lintels onto the window sills GONE! and dry carpets under our patio door.

Well worth the money,  I have a wife who does not moan every morning since you fitted the PIV unit, another bonus lol.

Thank you again.

Features & Benefits:

  • Cures condensation dampness - PIV removes humidity from the air, preventing mould growth and controlling dust-mite allergens.
  • Improves indoor air quality - indoor pollutants from cooking and cleaning are removed while outdoor pollutants including traffic fumes, pollen and Radon gas are kept out.
  • Meets Regulations - meets Part F & L of Building Regulations as a low-energy ventilation strategy.
  • Extremely low power consumption - costs around 1p per day.
  • Easy installation and very low maintenance - filter clean or replacement every five years
  • Fixed heat recovery - minimises loss of heat in the loft by re circulating the air, saving energy.
  • System standby in summer months - when the loft temperature exceeds 23°C.
  • Health benefits - clinically proven to help allergy and asthma sufferers.
  • 5 year warranty - for peace of mind.

Why do these problems occur?

New homes and many old homes are inadequately ventilated.

Modern construction methods mean that houses are being built more airtight.

Combine this with home improvements to older housing such as improved insulation and new windows. These serve to decrease natural ventilation. If you then add to the mix activities such as washing , cooking, bathing, smoking and drying clothes, which lead to condensation and poor air quality.

Extensive damage can be caused to a property by condensation and mould.

In addition poor air quality, which leads to mould, can cause or worsen health issues, such as asthma, allergies and sinusitis.

What does positive pressure ventilation do?

In short - positive input ventilation will cure condensation, dampness and remove pollutants from your home by continuously introducing clean, dry filtered fresh air into your property, displacing stale damp air and pollutants and preventing condensation in your dwelling, thus preventing  dampness and mould growth.

As well as maintaining good air quality the continuous flow of fresh filtered air also helps to stop cold draughts by pushing the cold, damp or stale air out through any gaps or cracks.

Installing a Positive Input Ventilation system

PIV units can address mould issues in a matter of days. their continuous running, quickly reduces humidity levels, and by using modern super efficient motors offer very low running costs. Also, as positive ventilation can draw its incoming air from the loft space, this air is naturally warmer than the outside air and therefore requires less heating, helping to improve energy efficiency when compared with mechanical extract fans.

Combine this with very low ongoing maintenance and ease of installation, using one single fan, mounted in the roof space, makes PIV an ideal solution for new builds and non disruptive retrofit applications.

Full Installation Service

After more than 25 years of electrical contracting experience and having completed a BPEC qualification in domestic ventilation. We are qualified to install, inspect & commission domestic ventilation, including intermittent & continuous mechanical supply, positive input ventilation (PIV) & extract with heat recovery (MVHR). This enables us to sign off ventilation systems that meet the requirements of Approved Document F.
